Who We Are

FIN Myanmar (Friend in Need Myanmar) is a national not-for-profit civil-society organization based in Yangon, Myanmar. Established in August 2023 and registered with the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), we work primarily with vulnerable communities in peri-urban Yangon and informal settlements.

To improve quality of life by strengthening livelihoods, improving access to basic services (health, WASH, education), and building resilience to natural and human-made shocks.

Communities in Myanmar where children, young people and families live safely and with dignity.

Our work spans multiple interconnected focus areas: WASH and environmental sanitationhealth and nutritionchild protection, play and children’s mental healthlivelihoods, youth entrepreneurship and vocational training; and menstrual health and hygiene.

Through community resource centers and partnerships with leading organizations, we have reached over 28,000 people in peri-urban Yangon in 2025, providing integrated support that addresses the root causes of vulnerability and builds lasting resilience.

Our Journey

Growing impact through partnership and community trust

August 2023

FIN Myanmar Founded

Friend in Need Myanmar was established and registered with the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) as a national not-for-profit civil-society organization.

Early 2024

Community Resource Centers Launched

We opened our first community resource centers in peri-urban Yangon, providing safe spaces for children, health referrals, and community activities.

Mid 2024

Strategic Partnerships Formed

Established collaborations with leading organizations including WaterAid Myanmar, UNDP, Thant Myanmar, PATH, BRAC, and Plan International to amplify our impact.

2025

28,000+ People Reached

Through integrated programs across WASH, health, livelihoods, environmental sanitation, and menstrual health, we reached over 28,000 people in peri-urban Yangon communities.
